One of the newest and most interesting Burger joints in the entire state of Utah is Marley’s Cafe at the Timpanogas Harley Davidson dealership in Lindon. You can learn more about why the dealership and building are both so amazing on their website but here on some interesting facts (then I’ll talk about the burger).

- About 80% of the entire dealership was built with recycled materials.
- Materials from Geneva Steel, an old Coca-Cola factor and a truss from the 1800s Ogden Depot.
- The Tower on top is a 75 foot tall, 1100-pound Water Tower

The Marleys Cafe Lunch

Focused on Sliders instead of the traditional burgers I usually review, Marley’s Cafe offers a variety of “Build Your Own Slider” options starting at $2.50 per slider or $6 for a meal with fries, drink and slider. My question is who on earth can eat a lunch of just one slider? I had two sliders with fries & drink and could have handled a few more. I went with simple Sliders with ketchup, mustard, lettuce, pickles and enjoyed the entire experience. The food was brought to my table as I watched SportsCenter on the big screen and time from ordering to delivery was about 10 minutes. The sliders were……sliders. I’d love to have the same quality ingredients and delicous buns as a real burger but since that’s not an option I recommend getting at least 2 sliders if you are even a little hungry.

Overall the atmosphere was perfect for enjoying a hamburger and the food was pretty darn good. The bread is delicious but I wish the fries were a thicker cut and their fry sauce isn’t the best in the world but it certainly does the trick.

FRY SCORE: B+

I happened to be in Southern Utah this week and while in Blanding, Utah heard about a must experience burger offered at a Monticello Utah Restaurant called Lamplight Restaurant. In fact, it was so recommended that we took the long way to Monticello in order to hit the 4:00pm opening of this Southern Utah gem.

Half Pound Burger at Lamplight Restaurant in Monticello, UT

Owned and operated by the Chef you meet when you walk in, Lamplight is a wonderful experience for anyone in the area and food is fantastic. The half pound Black Angus burger was served on a soft and nicely toasted bread with fresh tomato, lettuce, sliced onions, cheese and the meat was juicy and delicious. Anything more than the half pounder would have been too much and for about $10 the entire meal was wonderful.

As for the french fries (which are just as important to me as the burger), they are of the “skins included” category and end up with the natural taste that comes from quality fries. They don’t have anything extra added to them and are served fresh so eat up. Something that is very unique to this Monticello Utah Restaurant is the gravy that is regularly requested by customers for fry dipping. It’s a nice and creamy gravy which was perfected by Lamplight over 2 years ago and made fresh.

I am a huge fan of fry sauce and although Lamplight didn’t have any fry sauce, this gravy was wonderful and added a nice twist to my french fry loving self. Overall the burger is a top choice and the fries are an excellent example of home made goodness. If you are in the area, get over to Lamplight and try their Half Pound goodness!

Do you like In&Out Burger whenever you go to California? Of course you do! Well this is about as close as you will get without actually eating at In&Out. In fact, I’d venture to say the burger is better and the fries are pretty close (but are not the same). The Chadders in American Fork, Utah is on busy corner that makes it easy to get to and easy to enjoy. The food is made fresh when you order and the atmosphere is classic Drive-In.

Chadder's Stubby Double Meal

This trip I had their “Stubby Double” which is a double patty burger with the secret sauce and all the fixens. I’ve eaten here twice before, both were right after they opened and both left me feeling like they were still figuring out their recipe. I’d venture to say I was right because either I was starving and anything would have tasted great or this burger was delicious. I wasn’t starving so my final answer is: This was a perfect “Classic Drive-In Style” burger. It was juicy, fresh and I walked out wanting to tell someone about it. In fact, I brought a companion burger eater with me and he went back the next day because he couldn’t get it out of his head.

Now to the french fries. I’m not a fan of the spongy, skinny fries offered at Chadder’s or In&Out. So take this with a grain of salt but, the fries were fresh (as always) and I love their fry sauce so, when used as a tool to get more fry sauce in my system, the fries at Chadders were fine. If you like In&Out fries then you’ll like the Chadder’s fries.

The customer experience is always good and they are a friendly, busy group. The atmosphere is fun and you don’t mind getting messy eating your burger. If you are in American Fork and craving a Drive-In style burger (or In&Out) then Chadder’s is a great place and it’s right in between to freeway entrances so you can get back to work in a jiffy.

One of my favorite burger places happens to be located just down from my office in American Fork, Utah. JCWs is wonderfully delicious at every level. The french fries are always perfectly cooked and are thick enough to handle fry sauce or ketchup and a great combination of crispy and soft. Part of what makes JCWs so good is the atmosphere. It’s not a greasy burger joint yet it’s not a fancy restaurant so that means it’s a great place to sit down and enjoy a cheeseburger and fries.

Today I decided to go with the basic “All American Cheeseburger and Fries Combo”. I had a delicious Dr. Pepper with my burger (Dr. Pepper always seems to compliment a burger and fries). The total was $6.42 and it was fantastic. With only one size of fries available it’s a hefty amount so I won’t complain.

Overall it hit the spot and didn’t leave me feeling greasy or wishing for a salad (never does!) Here’s how wonderful this meal looked:
