The decore is Polaroid pictures meet cool. If they have a polaroid camera and film then you can get your picture, no need to eat a special burger or devour a special shake, just ask. The wall has local Utah celebrities, smiling college students and funny faces as well as art from a local artist who’s work is available at etsy.com.

The lunchtime menu today included a special for $6.99 which included any burger, drink and fries. I chose their COWabunga burger (Pastrami burger), Mountain Dew and their regular seasoned fries. It took about 10 minutes from ordering to having our burger ready for toppings. The cook brought the burger out and then asked me for toppings to add. Tomatoes, pickles, lettuce, ketchup and mustard. The burger itself was a 1/4 pound patty with a slice of pastrami on top, wonderful provalone cheese, sauteed onions and my choice of toppings. I could have handled a little better meat quality but the overall burger was a great blend of flavors and the pastrami with provalone was a match made in heaven.

The Sammy’s Cafe fries are fantastic. Their house seasoned fries are thick, crispy on the outside and hold the heat well. Their fry sauce is way too heavy on the mayo and nothing to get excited about but with some ketchup, the french fries were delicious. They also offer Sweet Potato fries at no additional cost which are great.

The meal was served on a cheap plate with plastic cups for the drink and overall I loved the entire experience. It felt like a great place to hang out, enjoy a burger and fries and maybe even a shake (rumor has it their shakes are really good. It was a great combination of good food, fun atmosphere and attention to experience. If you are in Provo and need a good burger that’s not the same as the other guys, Sammy’s Cafe is a great choice. Total meal is right around $7.50.

Burger Supreme is a Provo burger restaurant with a rich history and continues to be one of the few authentic burger joints in Provo. Located on University Avenue in Provo, the constant burger smoke pouring out of Burger Supreme nearly allows you to let your nose be your guide in locating it. Today’s Burger Supreme meal was the Pastrami Burger with Fries and it was everything you might expect.

Since my first Pastrami burger experience I’ve been a fan of pastrami burgers and the Burger Supreme pastrami burger was no exception. Their pastrami was juicy and had a really nice spice to it. The beef pattie was also juicy and the two together really hit the spot. I also have a tendency to use Fry Sauce as a dipping sauce for the pastrami burger and the Burger Supreme fry sauce is a wonderful compliment to their fries and the burger.

Overall, today’s burger was a nice combination of spice, grease and Dr Pepper. Burger Supreme still stays on my favorites list and if you like Crown Burger or any other “pastrami burger” restaurant then I’m sure you’ll love Burger Supreme too.

Crown Burger was first opened in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1978 by brothers Nick and Manuel Katsanevas. Their specialty is the Crown Burger, a delicious cheeseburger with beef patties and tons of freshly sliced pastrami. All the fixens with french fries and a Mr. Pibb (I personally wish Dr Pepper was an option but I’ll survive).

What makes the whole Crown Burger experience special is the environment. You order your food at the large front counter, hear your order over the microphone and then get your order, wrapped in paper and sit down in a European hunting lodge themed restaurant. This includes a large fireplace, big chairs and the warmth you’d expect from any hunting lodge.

Here’s what my last crown burger looked like and I’ve yet to experience a Crown Burger that wasn’t ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!
